Australian passport: visa and passport validity rules for every destination (2026)

Do Australians need a visa, and how long must an Australian passport be valid? For 173 destinations, the text of Smartraveller, the Australian Government's travel advice service, quoted word for word, with the date of each official page.

Smartraveller writes its advice in prose, so we summarise very little: 6 visa summaries and 2 passport validity summaries, only where the official sentence matches a fixed wording. For most destinations Smartraveller gives only its general passport advice (“Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months…”), which we quote as general advice, not as a rule of the country.
