Cabin bag size by airline (2026): free under-seat bag and cabin bag
How big can your free bag be, and when do you have to pay for a cabin bag? The official hand luggage sizes of 28 airlines, quoted word for word from each airline's own page with the date we checked it. 13 of them include a cabin bag for the overhead locker in every fare; the others include only a smaller bag that must fit under the seat.
Airlines change their bag rules and measure bags their own way (usually in a sizer at the airport, with wheels and handles). We quote each airline's official page on the date shown; the official rule and the airline staff decide. Check your booking before you fly.

- Aer Lingus: the cabin baggage page on aerlingus.com shows an anti-robot check (“Pardon Our Interruption”), also in a browser; the only page we could read is an undated pop-up that may be out of date.
- SAS: flysas.com blocks automated readers (“Access Restricted”), also in a browser.
- Transavia: the hand luggage pages on transavia.com returned an error page or a redirect loop on 18 October 2026.
