Liquids rules by airport 2026: 100 ml or 2 litres?
What is the liquid limit at your airport? Some airports with new CT scanners now let you carry liquids in containers of up to 2 litres; many still apply the 100 ml limit, and some only at certain checkpoints. Here is what each airport's official page says, quoted word for word, with the date we checked it.
Of the 63 airports below:
- 12 up to 2 litres
- 44 100 ml
- 6 depends on the checkpoint
- 1 with official pages that disagree
Rules can differ by terminal, checkpoint or lane and can change at short notice. We quote the airport's official page on the date shown. Check with the airport (and your airline) before you pack, and check the airport you fly home from: it may still have the 100 ml limit.

What governments say
UK Government (GOV.UK)
The rules for carrying liquids in your hand luggage depend on the airport.
At most airports, you cannot take liquids in containers larger than 100ml through security. This still applies if the container is only part full.
Some airports may allow you to take liquid in containers that hold up to 2 litres of liquid.

European Union (Your Europe portal)
Liquids carried in the aircraft cabin such as aerosols, drinks, toothpaste, cosmetic creams or gels must be carried in a transparent plastic bag - maximum capacity 1 litre - and no container may hold more than 100 ml.
The Your Europe page shows 'Last checked: 16/06/2026' and states the general EU rule. It does not mention the airports that use approved CT scanners: Rome Fiumicino's official page says those airports may allow up to 2 litres 'in compliance with the new provisions of the European Commission' from 26 July 2025. Follow your departure airport's own page.
