Geneva public transport: the fine, validation and contactless payment (2026)
According to tpg, Geneva’s public transport company, checked on 31 October 2026, passengers without a valid ticket pay a surcharge on top of the ticket: for adults, CHF 100 if paid straight to the inspector or CHF 125 if paid later for a first offence, then CHF 165 and CHF 195 for later offences.
Fines and payment rules change, often at the start of the year. We quote the transport company’s own pages word for word, with the date we checked them; this is information, not legal advice. The inspector, the fine notice and the official page decide.
